Enabling Tabby - Classic Pro using your Tabby - Browser Tab Manager purchase

Because Tabby – Classic is a new app in the App Store it’s paywall banner will be displayed by default and the Restore Purchase option will not work to enable an existing Pro license. To address this we have added support in Tabby – Browser Tab Manager v3.0.1 to migrate your Pro license to Tabby – Classic. To enable Tabby – Classic Pro using your Tabby – Browser Tab Manager purchase use the following steps:

  • Install and open Tabby – Browser Tab Manager 3.0.1 (142) or later. Tabby – Browser Tab Manager is available here.
  • Verify that the purchase banner at the bottom of the Tabby – Browser Tab Manager window is NOT present, indicating you have an existing Pro license.

  • IMPORTANT NOTE: Apple maintains two sets of purchase records, one for TestFlight and one for the App Store. If you are running a TestFlight build of Tabby – Browser Tab Manager you may need to “purchase” the app before proceeding. There is no actual charge for purchasing the app in the TestFlight sandbox.
  • Install Tabby – Classic (94) or later. Tabby – Classic is available here. The Pro version should be unlocked and displaying unlimited tabs.
Is Tabby - Classic compatible with menu bar managers?

In general, yes. We have had reports of focus not being in the Tabby – Classic search field by default when using menu bar managers like Bartender. Current versions of Tabby – Classic should address that issue, and we are continuing to work on additional compatibility with Bartender 5 and 6.

Where are my Firefox windows?

Unfortunately Firefox does not make available the kind of programmatic access required by apps like Tabby. Therefore Firefox windows and tabs are not displayed.

Can I name my Open Windows?

Yes. However Tabby – Classic does not persist Open Window names across restarts of the app, which includes Mac restarts and logouts. For these reasons using the Open Window naming function is only recommended as a first step toward saving that window into the Saved Windows tab.

Known issues in version 2.5.3 (94)
  • On certain monitor configurations the Tabby – Classic main view may be intermittently displayed partially off-screen. Workaround: re-open Tabby – Classic.
  • If the browser is not running when opening a Saved window, a second blank window will be opened.
  • Rows in the Saved windows view may appear selected after certain operations. Workaround: mouse over the selected rows.
Happy with Tabby - Classic?

If so, please consider leaving a rating or review in the App Store. We purposely have not instrumented Tabby – Classic to prompt for ratings and reviews within the app because we ourselves find those prompts annoying. As a new app Tabby – Classic needs all the love it can get!
